I was a little bit underwhelmed from the hype, and the big shocker ending didn’t really shock me. not because it was expected, but because somehow how they chose to show it didn’t quite vibe with me. I don’t know why. some of the characters seem superfluous (really? they needed barty crouch there just to have another reason to say the title of the film out loud one more time?)

BUT I thought the story was interesting, the film is beautiful, the acting is absolutely stellar (oh my god benedict shines in the scene where he comes home. you know the one. GUH my heart just shattered into a thousand little pieces and I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to find them all) and I really quite liked it. I think I would have liked it better if I hadn’t gone in with such high expectations though.

also benedict is fucking beautiful in it and I want to hump colin firth from all angles
